Grapes are sourced from vineyards planted at 550m to 620m of altitude on clay-limestone soils in the village of Ábalos. Half of the wine is aged in 500-litre barrels, the other half in 225-litre casks.

Grapes are traditionally foot-trodden –hence de name “pies negros” (“blackfeet”). Purple colour. Concentrated, fruity nose with blackberries and lead pencil aromas. Consistent, fruit-driven palate with good acidity.
