Supertuscan Il Vignone has a deep ruby color. The full wine, with moderate, ripe, fine-grained tannins and moderate acidity, delights with the aromas of dark plum, blackcurrant, cassis, pepper, black pepper and licorice. Long aging in the barrel adds vanilla and coffee aromas. In the mouth, velvety, well-arranged wine, which is a fulfillment after a rich aromatic offer.
Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon
Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano
After 1978, when the Decanter magazine rated the Sassicaia wine from the Tenuta San Guido estate higher than the best Bordeaux wines, the famous Super Tuscans began to emerge, wines boldly competing in quality and price with the Bordeaux Grands Crus. An example of Super Tuscana is Il Vignone, which is aged 18 months in oak barrels and then in a bottle.
